1. advantageous to / disadvantageous to -

 

advantageous to <누구> 누구에게 유리하다

advantageous for <누구> to <어떻게 하다> 

 

ex) The new policy is only advantageous to parents with two or more children.

ex) The new policy is only advantageous for parents with two or more children to buy a house. 

 

 

2. A is better for B : A가 B에게 더 좋다

 

 

3. A gives an advantage to B  :  A가 B에게 유리하다, 좋다 

ex) The new policy gives an advantage to parents with two or more children.

 

 

4. A is in a better(difficult) position (to do) than B

ex) Based on the new policy, parents with 2 or more childern are in a better position to buy a house.

 

 

5. A puts B in a better(difficult) position (to do) than B

ex) The new policy puts parents with 2 or more children in a better position to buy a house.

 

 

5.  A가 B보다 유리하다 - A have an advantage(*edge) over B 

 

Students who can afford to own a laptop have an advantage over those who can't.

Students who can afford to own a laptop are in a much better position to learn than those who can't.

 

*edge - A와 B가 경쟁 관계일 때 쓴다
